The Hawaii Association of Broadcasters, Inc. is a non-profit membership-driven trade organization serving radio and television stations statewide. The purpose of the Association is to assist members with broadcast industry and general business related challenges while keeping membership dues affordable for stations of every size. HAB members are offered educational seminars, legal resources, lobbying representation, updates on industry trends and the opportunity to network with other broadcasters. Through conferences, programs and meetings, including the HAB annual 2-day convention, the HAB provides training in matters of sales and advertising, personnel, programming and public service. The Government Relations committee works with state and federal lawmakers and regulatory agencies to ensure the varied interests of Hawaii broadcasters. Through the EEO Clearinghouse and HAB JobBank, members are assisted with employee recruitment. With increasing participation from smaller stations and the neighbor islands, The HAB continues to grow...
The 2010 HAB scholarship applications will be available online on March 1, 2010. Please check back here for the application and instructions on March 1. Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a full-time college student with the cost of tuition for one year in his or her pursuit of college study. The student must have the career goal of working in the broadcast industry (radio, television) in Hawaii upon graduation. Please note again - this scholarship is for school tuition only. Award: Annual scholarships will be awarded to students interested in a broadcast career who are attending or plan to attend an accredited 2-year or 4-year college/university or a recognized broadcast school in the United States.
